Prog Meetings: 9th Dec and 16th Dec

Greetings from the PROG COMM!!

The Programme Committee held their first meeting after finals on the 9th December 2014. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the activities that the committee have suggested for the project.

The activities that we are planning to conduct over in Tacloban are divided into 3 categories:
1) Education - Under this category, we plan to educate the community with life skills and children with interesting science concepts by conducting fun-filled activities.
2) Games - The activities organised in this category allow Cheway members to interact with the community that we are helping, bringing the two groups together. Furthermore, we will be able to bring fun and laughter to the community as well.
3) Cultural Exchange - The activities here promotes mutual understanding between us and the Tacloban community, by exchanging our different cultural practices.

Our members voiced out various concerns and issues to take note of in each of the activities suggested and we proceeded to start on our proposals, listing out the objectives, descriptions and logistics.

PS: Happy Birthday Gauri!!

During the next meeting on the 16th of December, we consolidated all the activities and worked out the time frame for all of them. But first, let us take not one but two selfies!

Smile..

Smile Again!

After that, we picked out those better ideas that we feel strongly about and will develop them further. Next, we picked out those activities that we will be testing out. Then, we noted down the things that are to be addressed by the recee team. Finally, we concluded the meeting with a committee dinner.

During the next few weeks or so, we will be finalising our activities that we will conduct in Tacloban, trying them out and move on to plan for our first local CIP which will be done early next year. It is going to be a busy period ahead but I am sure with our awesome committee we are able to strive through it!

Signing off for now.. Stay tuned for more updates!
